This is so very very true. I work in Commercial auto parts for
Advanced Auto Parts and did for AutoZone for a good many years. My
advice to ANYBODY looking for a mechanic they can trust is this: Go to
the local auto parts store, Advance, AutoZone, O'reillys. Schucks.
Checkers. Etc. Anybody that delivers to repair shops and talk to the
COMMERCIAL part person. these guys like myself talk to these shops on
the phone many many times a day to supply parts for resale. These guys
know who uses quality parts, stands behind their warranties, and who
does the work the right way. Not the flunky behind the counter in these
stores talk to the commercial guys. In the many stores I have worked in
both in Orlando Florida and here in Georgia there are only one or two
shops in every store I have worked in that I would trust to work on my
own car!!!! This problem runs rampant all over this country where these
guys are trying to make money for nothing. There are a few honest shops
that build a clientele rather than to make the fast buck. I am going to
use this video on my website to help get this word out to un suspecting
motorists.
